EB-1A VISA

Extraordinary Skills

For professionals with international recognition in their fields.

What is the EB-1A visa?

The EB-1A visa is one of the employment-based immigrant visa categories, intended for individuals with “extraordinary abilities” in the fields of science, arts, education, business, or athletics. It is a direct path to a Green Card (permanent residency) in the United States and, unlike other categories, does not require a specific job offer from an American employer, nor a labor certification (PERM).

This visa is ideal for individuals who have reached the top of their respective fields and can prove it through national or international recognition. Self-petition is permitted, meaning the individual can initiate the process themselves without needing a sponsor.

Main Advantages of the EB-1A Program:

  • No job offer needed: You are not required to have a U.S. employer sponsor you.

  • No labor certification: The lengthy PERM process is completely waived.

  • Faster processing: This category generally moves quicker than other employment-based visas.

  • Direct path to a Green Card: Once approved, you and your immediate family (spouse and unmarried children under 21) can obtain permanent residency.

  • Flexibility: You can continue working in your field of expertise anywhere in the United States.
